ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Aboriginal Thunder Hockey Championships bring together youth teams from across Northeast Alberta as well as Saskatchewan and British Columbia for four days of fast, competitive hockey. Boys and Girls ages 7–17 compete in multiple divisions with a guaranteed 4 games, and top teams playing up to 6 games.

GAME FORMAT

All teams are guaranteed 4 games.

Top 4 teams in each division may play up to 6 games when divisions are full.
Bonnyville: 15-20-20 stop time (1.5 hr games)
St. Paul: 15-15-20 stop time (1.25 hr games)
Glendon: 12-15-15 stop time (1 hr games)
Elk Point: 15-15-20 running time (1 hr games)

TEAM ELIGIBILITY

ALL TEAMS ARE ALLOWED A MAXIMUM OF THREE (3) NON‑ABORIGINAL PLAYERS PER TEAM.

Ages are based on 2027 age categories.
